New Mexico
This year's vacation was planned to drive (with our trailer) to Michigan, spend about a week there visiting Scott's sister, then head South through Tennessee to visit Scott's kids/grandkids. We made it as far as Albuquerque, NM when we had to stop to get some mechanical issues taken care of on the truck. By the time we got the truck back, it was too late to drive east so we decided to convert our vacation to New Mexico. Neither Scott nor I had spent any time there, so there is much to see and do.
This is our campsite for the next 10 days. We stayed at Stage Coach Stop RV Park in Rio Rancho, NM.
I would highly recommend this RV Park for anyone needing to stay in the ABQ area.
While at the RV Park, Dolly made a new friend named Winston.
She had a absolute blast with him. The RV Park had 2 dog park areas, back to back. Whenever I brought Dolly to the
dog park, she would run over to the separating fence to see if Winston is there. If he was, she would go bonkers until I
brought her over to Winston's side of the fence so she could play.
Speaking of Dolly, she enjoys camping with us. Well, actually, it's probably more like she just enjoys hanging with us no
matter what we're doing. She also enjoys watching TV.

On July 4th, the City of Rio Rancho had a real nice firework show.
The mountain range Northeast of Albuquerque is called Sandia. We had a great view of the mountains from the RV Park.
We also drove up the mountain for a spectacular view of the ABQ valley

Albuquerque has what they call their Bio Park. The Bio Park consists of their Zoo, Aquarium, and Botanical Gardens.
So of course, we had to go there.

On our trip to Santa Fe, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they were hosting a Low Rider Car & Motorcycle Show.
These cars and bikes were great.
When Scott realized that Los Alamos wasn't too far away, of course we had to go there.
If you are not familiar with what Los Alamos is famous for, you can read about it here:

We stayed in ABQ for 10 days, then we moved on to Taos.
Just South of town is a famous Catholic Church called San Francisco De Asis Church.
Apparently, it is the subject of a lot of artists. The church grounds were absolutely beautiful.
We also learned that the Rio Grande River runs right through the middle of New Mexico.
Just west of Taos, the Rio Grande has it's own version of the Grand Canyon.
This is the Rio Grande River Gorge.
This is the bridge that spans over the river gorge.
(I did not take this picture... found it on the internet)

Northeast of Taos lies a small community called Angel Fire.
They have put in a Vietnam Veteran Memorial Park.
We could have stayed all day there.
Here are a few pictures that I took.
Our last stop was the Taos Pueblo.
This pueblo has been continuously inhabited for over 1,000 years.
Still to this day they have no electricity or running water.
Their water source is from a small stream that runs through their pueblo.
