CAMPING IN THE WOODS
September 24 - 26, 2021
This weekend we went camping again to scout out a good hunting spot for Scott's upcoming deer hunt. We camped in the forest between Sedona & Williams. It was an absolutely beautiful place. During our explorations, we entered into a recent forest fire burn area. Just based on the amount of ash & wood coal on the ground, this fire took place within the past month or two. Although there is nothing cool about a forest fire, it left behind some pretty spectacular and spooky trees. I have always loved taking pictures of trees ... I think they have a lot of character, and all uniquely different.
We actually did see some deer ... but they were all Mule Deer ... we are looking for White Tail Deer. We also spotted 4 turkey hens. This is the first time I have ever seen wild turkeys in Arizona.
One of the places we drove to put us at the end of a deep canyon. The view was incredible... pictures did not come close to depicting it's glorious beauty.
The last point of interest we saw was an old, rustic cabin called Hidden Cabin. It was utterly amazing that there were burned trees all around it, yet it survived the fire.
And then ... you can't go camping without having a camp fire. I was having fun playing around with the settings on my phone camera.
Enjoy the pictures!
