Back to Back Weekends
December 15th, 2012
Now that the weather has cooled off, we are going out to play more often. It just so happened that we had 2 Saturdays in a row that we had fun together.
On December 8th, as a spur-of-the-moment, late afternoon decision, we decided to explore some of our local desert to find a place to go shooting. So ... 3:00 in the afternoon we are loading up the car and off we went.
We found the road we were looking for (going to BLM Land) and had quite the adventure on some pretty rugged jeep tails in our 2 wheel drive Honda Element. After about 20 minutes of lots of bumps on the road, we found an almost suitable place to shoot.

Here's our quick set up. Say "Cheese" Scott.
White Target
Red Target
Yellow Target
Our metal targets
(just don't shoot at Scott)
Scott shooting his beloved Sig Sauer
We came across this very unique Saguaro cactus along the bumpy road.
We used this picture to make our Christmas Greeting.
As the sun was setting we got a free showing of God's majestic tapestries
Then on December 15th, we needed to make a quick trip to the mountains to pick up more antlers for our Antlerz 4 Dogz business.
The only problem ... since it was raining down here in the Phoenix Valley, that means it would be snowing up in the mountains.
Typically that wouldn't be a problem for most, but when we go up to the snow line, the roads hadn't been plowed much (or at all). The road had a tight pack of snow and ice ... only in the center. So a 2-lane (in each direction) road became a one lane road in many areas leaving room for only one car going either direction to navigate on. Since I, Barbara, had never driven on that type of road condition before ... I thought this would be a great experience for me. About half way into the worst part, I confessed to Scott that this was my first time driving like this.
<<<Very Big Grin>>>. Poor Scott ... his knuckles were hurting.
So I kept Scott busy taking pictures along the way.
Below are some of the most beautiful snow pictures I have ever seen (in my opinion)
To end the day ... as soon as we got out of the mountains and canyon we arrived in Globe. Globe was the only place around that had a tiny patch of sunshine ... and rain too. So we enjoyed the beautiful rainbow that was made for us.
We sure do love our awesome God.
